The West Indies started steadily after being asked to bat first thanks mainly to an 89-run stand between openers Smith and Shivnarine Chanderpaul.Opener Smith scored 107 off 133 balls to set up Pollard's 55-ball blitz, which helped the West Indies recover admirably from 130 for three in 32 overs to reach 275 all out in 50 overs.West Indies have won the match by 44 runs. Ireland started off well with their batting while chasing but kept on losing wickets at regular intervals later on. Joyce was the best batsman for the Irish team scoring 84 runs. For West Indies, Benn was the star bowler picking up 4/53 in 10 overs. Captain Sammy too chipped in with 3/31 in his 10 overs. Kieron Pollard was elected as Man of the Match for his brilliant performance with the bat and for taking an excellent catch.
