ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 - PAK VS WI (1st QF)

WEST INDIES 112  (43.3)    PAKISTAN 113/0  (20.5)
PLAYER OF THE MATCH  MOHAMMAD HAFEEZ

Shahid Afridi ripped through the West Indies with a four-wicket haul as the Caribbean lads crushed to 112 all out. West Indies won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the first QF of the ICC CWC in Mirpur today. Pakistan are chasing down a paltry West Indies total without much fuss. Kamran and Hafeez on fire.
Chasing 113 for a win, the Pakistan openers came out all guns blazing and scaled the target in the 21st over. Nothing much to write about the Windies bowling as they looked completely out of sorts against the onslaught by Akmal(47) and Hafeez(61).
A commanding performance from Pakistan to completely shatter the Windies' World Cup hopes and thereby motor to the semis. It was truly a clinical performance, first with the ball to bundle out the opposition to a paltry total and then the batsmen backed it up with a fantastic chase to thump West Indies by 10 wickets. This is also the only third time they have registered a 10-wicket win over any opposition.
